What do I book?
There may be times you question whether you need a full session when you can just get a mini session. The thing is, there are differences with the way I do things, so it really depends on what suits you best.
What you get from a full session is more time (up to an hour) which also means you get more poses done for a bigger variety of options to have, in addition to more backdrop options depending on location. When booking a full session with me, we will go over what type of location setting you're wanting which can vary from outdoors to indoor/studio, locally or maybe we travel out of town for that perfect spot.
For my mini sessions, I actually label them as "Limited Edition Minis" because they are typically themed, and I only do that certain set up once. These setups are also limited to certain dates throughout the year vs any day and time (sometimes there can be exceptions for opening up more spots depending on need and availability) and set up in a certain location of my choosing. With these themed mini sessions, they come with a certain number of edited photos with the option to purchase more, whereas the full family sessions will come with all of the best images and that does vary, but usually an overwhelming amount to have because I love to give.
So really the biggest factor is going to be this, do you want some say in where your photos are taken, and does it matter how they are styled? For instance , Christmas minis are always a big seller for the family or even just the kids but obviously they will be surrounded by a Christmas styled set.
Another big one for example is Mother's Day photos. Each year I love to get a beautiful set going for the mothers and mothers to be and every year I am so thrilled with the way they turn out! They are great if you're wanting minimal images done with you and your babies for some special moments captured. This however does not mean that you will not get those special images if you book a full family session instead. As stated above, my full sessions allow for more time and posing options meaning I get the variety of family posing together (individuals, mom and kids, dad and kids, dad and mom only, etc.).
If you're somewhere in the middle of not quite wanting a full family session, but also not loving the theme or dates of a limited edition mini, I will be offering half sessions soon! These will be more time than a mini, but not as much as a full and will be limited to staying to local outdoor locations or in my studio. This can be great for little ones who might need more time to warm up than a mini would allow yet may also only cooperate for a short amount of time, or perhaps you're wanting a full session, but maybe it is just outside of your budget.
Photography is a luxury, but an important one in my opinion. If I can help put smiles on faces by capturing moments and smiles of loved ones one way or another, then I am happy!
