Headshots or full branding session?

That's a great question, and it really depends on what you're needing or looking for in a session. So, let's get into it!

Headshots are portraits usually showing the torso and up only (think school photos), and used for business cards, profile picture on your business page, or used a bio pic in your website/place of employment. With a headshot session, it will be a shorter shooting time and come with less images and limited amount of posing styles. There are location options and that is something we would talk about when booking a session and chatting about details. Some options can be your office if that's where you do most of your business. My studio is another space that can be used with minimal backdrop noise. Sometimes there are requirements if your employer is wanting a headshot of you with a certain solid color and that is where my backdrop options come in handy.

Alright, so now that you have read up on a headshot session, what is branding do you need it? A branding session is personally something I really enjoy and think every small business owner should have done at some point! It's a great way to either introduce yourself and business or maybe reintroduce a rebrand. It showcases what you do and tells a little story about it in photograph form and is also a great way for your clients (current, future and potential) to get to know you.

Instead of a shorter session with minimal posing/images, it will be more of a relaxed time setting with quite the variation of image and posing options utilizing props that you use for work or that resemble what you do (think hairdresser with scissors and a curling iron, or a podcast host with a microphone. Makeup artist with lipstick and mascara, etc). Due to having more time, this also allows for multiple outfit changes and locations. If you either have an office inside or want some studio work we can do that, in addition to taking our session outside for a wider variety.

With all this being said, I do still make sure to include some headshots in the full branding session so you have them when needed, therefor if you like the idea of having a variety, a branding session is definitely what you should go with!
